Welcome to a Sunny Friday!
This week, students from 3rd grade at Henry Lord, Fonseca, Spencer Borden, Tansey and Letourneau traveled to the Zeiterion Theater to be a part of the Resourceful Composer, Resourceful Planet Performance by the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra! Here are some pictures that capture the excitement of the students... It's such a pleasure to have our kids be a part of this grant funded program! Thank you, Fall River Cultural Council and Music in the Parks!
In addition, here are a few pics I snapped along the way this week...
A Proud Mary... Zema, that Is! Here she is with Durfee Alumni who currently are active in the music field, and performed a "Master Class" for Mary's students!
Here's a glimpse into the DHS Orchestra Room- Can you say PACKED?
Here's a pic of the SUPER AWESOME PLAQUE the Durfee Theatre Company WON! So excited to see them compete again at Semi's at Sharon High on March 16th! Break a Leg!
And here are a few pics of the BRAND NEW INSTRUMENTS we received- $10,000.00 worth, to be exact! Thanks, ERNIE BOCH!
And those Sculpture Students- what are they up to under the super creative tutelage of Ms. Heather Pereira? Well, take a look- they are revamping old toys/parts to make a new character/art form... they'll be adding paper mache to these as they complete the task, and painting them. So cool!
In Mr. Carvalho's room, I spied some really interesting character textured paintings. Really love the techniques used her to prep the canvas... Cool stuff!
Ana Arsenio's student working hard here on his illustration- what a difference some good quality markers make!
