Here's to a well deserved, happy and sunny Friday!  



In the F&PA News this week:

  • Thank you for your lesson plans!  I will share an "assignment folder" each week.  Any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
  • Schedules- Elementary schedules are looking like they are running full and smoothly.  Middle schools seem like they are still working out kinks, and getting people fully scheduled.  High school is set, Stone and RPA are set.  Band and Orchestra teachers are getting their lessons situated and should be solid by the 19th.  
  • Goals for the year- I will be sharing a 2021/22 Goals Sentence Frame Doc with all groups next week- this is important.  Each group will have a team goal for PPG, and I will plan all PD to align with that goal.  It's almost like selecting a "mini-college course" where once you commit to that goal as a team, all PD and work during monthly dept meetings will adhere to that.. make sense?  Your SLG will be determined by what skill your students need most work in, and for K-8, what grade you will focus on.
  • Eval Training- I will be doing the annual run through of the evaluation process in a video and will share it with you next week!
  • The October monthly department meeting- We have a release time day on Monday the 4th of October.  On that day, I will have PD sessions for each group, and then you will stay in that group for your department meeting hour.  That way, we can get some solid collaborative work done.
  • Field Trips- At this time, the district is trying to stay away from planning Field Trips, but I am going to register for the May 2022 RI Phil trip so that students can get access to the program and the recorders.. if we can go, we will, but at least we will get recorders and PD out of it through Carnegie Foundation.
  • COVID Info- We discussed the current guidance at our last PLC meeting around mask wearing.  DESE has not provided any definitive distancing at this time.  Please keep a seating chart for your classes, so that you have it if a nurse contacts you regarding contact tracing.
