I mean, aren't our kids the CUTEST?

In the Arts this Week...
We have been busy planning for the last two full weeks of school, and on my end, I have been busy with evals and building schedules for next year.. it's non-stop over here!  Sometimes I feel like the snake biting it's own tail, but the cycle really never stops.. Middle school schedules are almost done, from what I am hearing- and arts classes are semesterized at the three middles.  Thank you to those who submitted names of students for band, chorus and orchestra.. it's super helpful in order to have these classes/cohorts set up for the fall.  High school classes are being double checked and set up in Power School as we speak.  As you know, we will be transitioning to Power School, and the use of Aspen/X2 will end by July 1.  Expect to see some PD on how to use this SIS platform in your buildings soon- either in June or August, or both.

Coming In HOT:
  • Durfee Graduation- Tonight!
  • Eval window closes- Today (we should be wrapping up writing these in TeachPoint)
  • Morton Spring Concert- 6/7
  • Talbot Lion King, the Musical- 6/9 and 6/10
  • K-8 Meetings- See email from Abby and Rochelle!
  • Juneteenth- Holiday, Monday June 20th No School
  • June 21 and 22- Release Time Days for Students
  • June 22- Last day of school- all requisitions due by end of day

FAB LAB COLLAB
In other planning news, we are working hard to put together a collab between the Durfee Arts/Fashion Design program, UMASS Dartmouth Visual and Fashion Design and Merrow Manufacturing so that students can explore the variety of opportunities within the Soft Goods market.  Stay tuned for some really cool stuff- can't wait to see our kids in the fall working with Ms. Arsenio, UMD Faculty Sydney Hawes and Charlie Merrow!

Have a great weekend.
Jackie
