Week Ending May 31st, 2024

Ms. Hernandez knows how to party!

Peace out, Girl Scout!  Ms. Turgeon's students LOVE her.

Ms. Burnham takes her work VERY seriously..

Can we talk about this beautiful smile?  That's one happy artist in Mr. Fontinha's class!

I attended the SouthCoast Community Foundation meeting and was so happy to hear that we are knocking it out of the park in Fall River in terms of community collaboration for arts programming!  Board members mentioned that we are a model system for others in the Commonwealth to learn from!

MacMullen and Ms. Lucini showing some Doran Community LOVE!

Good evening, ARTS FAM!

I will send out a very short Blog this week, just to say thank you to all of you for trekking it through- we are 10 days away from the end of the school year, and it's coming in HOT!  This week, we had Small Fry Band and Orchestra Concerts, and then the BIG MIDDLE SCHOOL LAKE COMPOUNCE TRIP for Band, Chorus and Orchestra Middle Schoolers.  Let me tell you, these teachers have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND this year, and every year I have had the honor of working alongside them.  Building an ensemble is like playing human Jenga, making sure they stay in tact, as students come in and out, and graduate from the program.. They do it like masters, making sure they have the right music, the right musicians, and just the right amount of support, balanced with high expectations.  Hats off to them, as they are STILL out there on a Friday night at 6:30PM, riding home with the troops, safe and sound.

Ahead, we will not be meeting for CPT or PLC for the remainder of the school year.  I am wrapping up evaluations, and will shift our time focusing on getting rooms ready for summer.  As always, reach out if you need me for anything.

On the penultimate day of school, I would LOVE to do a short Google Meet after students are dismissed.  Can you let me know (regrets only) if you cannot make it from 2-2:30 on that Thursday?

See you soon,

Jackie
