We Are On To March.

Yes!!!  

Teachers, as you plan for the week after vacation, know that we are On To March!  The Friday that we return from break is March 1st, and that is crazy!  As the year flies by, know that you have every day ahead to make an impact on Our Kids through the arts.
 
This week, we are so saddened to hear that we lost one of our students, William Wheeler.  Having known Will from his time with us at Talbot, I was so sad to hear the news.  Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts as they work through this difficult time.  

In the News This Week: 
This week, I ran through the K-5 Art and Music classrooms across the city!  I will share the Learning Walk Report in the weekly email so that you can read summaries of what is happening across the district with our K-5 schools!  Thank you for having me!  Here are some pictures I captured of Our Kids engaging in the tasks we planned for them!

Planning for Department Time:

• Monthly Department time for K-8 Art will shift gears at this point until the May department meeting.  Please use your hour a month for February, March and April to prepare work for the ARTS EXPO.
• Monthly Department time for K-5 Music will be switching gears this month- you will meet "virtually" to share lessons on the drive.  
• Monthly Department time for 6-8 Music- please use this time (one hour) to work on the maps for 6, 7 and 8th grade, and chorus.  (Michela, please work on chorus, Bill, please work on 7th grade and Kelsey, please work on 8th grade.  These are on the drive, as you know and are called At a Glance...)
