This week, we have two great district events to promote! First, the FRPS K-12 Arts Expo! What a great event this will be! Teachers, make sure students and parents are aware of the event- I sent a flyer to make copies with in interoffice mail last week. Please let me know if you have any issues with making copies. I also sent a laminated color poster to all schools today! Look for them in your school's entryways!
Next, we have the Annual SOLO FESTIVAL, Monday May 7th! This event gives our students a chance to be individually adjudicated by a professional in the music field who is not the child's teacher. This is a great way to get students ready for the world of festival adjudication. The feedback given to kids is always super thoughtful and goes a long way!
And in the news this week...
- Durfee Teachers: Faculty Meeting Tuesday after school, Department Meeting on the 24th- we will be using this dept meeting time to prep for the Arts Expo!
- K-8 Teachers- Art- no formal meeting this month- using the time to set up for the art show on Thursday (or any day after school during the week of April 22).. Music- K-5 should meet with Becky Jontos to get ready for the RI Phil Trip, Thursday, 3:45 at Letourneau. 6-8 Music, continue with online mapping, please!
A short blog this week, but a longer one with lots of student work on Friday, as I will be visiting K-5 this week for a learning walk!

Thank you- I know how busy this time of year is, and by the looks of my office, April's taken off in a whirlwind!
P.S: Art Teachers- I know you love the double sided tape guns, but the order for additional tape won't be in in time for you to use it for the Arts Expo unfortunately... That's the bad news. The good news is we have loads of 3 inch masking tape that works great! Let me know if you need any!
Thanks!
Jackie
