Durfee, Talbot and Morton had their Winter Concerts!  What a heart-warming experience to see our kids up there on stage giving it their all for their families, friends and teachers...  It truly takes COURAGE to perform, and the PERFORMING ARTS give our kids PRACTICE in the ART of BEING COURAGEOUS.  Next week, we have Kuss and HLCS/Doran- break a LEG!

Fall River Cultural Council Grants We Received!

• We received $1,000 for Durfee Fashion students to be able to travel to the Fall River Historical Society and the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast to view Victorian artifacts and then use this as inspiration as they design and construct fashion inspired by what they see!
• We also received $2,500 for the Durfee Sculpture class- this will support the purchase of a Fab Lab- 3D Printers, and tech so we can design and build some really cool stuff- molds and other things..  so cool!

The Durfee Mamma Mia Musical was a SUCCESS!  Thank you to all who supported!

Planning for the March Middle School Theater Trip!

• Our Middle School Music Teachers will be planning a trip to the Zeiterion Theater on March 25th to have a group of Theater Loving Students view a performance of Number the Stars...  Teachers can even use the actual text (we have district copies of it!) to drive the important message of the story home with students.  
• Middle School Music Teachers, please plan on having lunch at your schools prior to leaving for the show, as the show starts at 12:30.  
• I will be sharing documents after the Winter Break including a Field Trip Request Form, Permission Slips, and Bus Requests.

Planning for December Monthly Department Meetings

• K-5 Department Meeting- Our December meeting will be held on Thursday, December 19th at 3:45 at Silvia Elementary School.  Can we please all meet together in Steph's art room for this one?
• 6-8 Department Meeting- I will not be running anything this month, per my email to all.
• 9-12 Durfee Meeting- Wednesday, December 18th- 2:45 to 3:45.

NUTS AND BOLTS REMINDERS:

• Lesson Plans are due on Monday morning.
• Emergency Sub Plans need to be prepared and left on your desks (Durfee has a specific folder) in case you are absent.
• Workshop Model aspects should be present (in your room and in your planning):

• Opening (10-15 min)
• Work Period (30-40 min)Closing (5-10 min)
