Penultimate Blog Entry for 2022/23 SY

Good morning ARTS FAM!

Thank you for being a part of the collective growth of the fine and performing arts team.  This year, we accomplished so much.  Maps were revised, curriculum was developed and aligned to grade level standards, and scaffolds were developed for students who need them to succeed.  Concerts were performed, festivals adjudicated, arts expos expo-ed, fashion shows run, musicals and theatrical performances done, PDs led and learned from.. pat yourselves on the back, people!  We are so good.  But also so tired LOL.

With one more week of wake ups until you call it a year, we have a few things on our minds.  

  • Evals
  • PD time on Thursday and Friday
  • Summer Plans
EVALS- As these should be done at this point, a couple of housekeeping items.  1. Remember to read and sign these in TeachPoint.  Two- consider the recommendations as you begin the next eval cycle, as evaluators will look for that in the next time around.  So, if they said "hey, nice job with standard 1A3, but can you gimme some 1B2 next time, too?" let's pay attention to that next year.  Great job at getting another year in the books!

PD TIME THU/FRI- On the two last days of school, you will have PD time after students leave/lunch.  Thursday, I will have a few department things happening:
  • K-12- Google Meet from 12:15 to 2:25 on Using Tech and Google Tools for SLG/Assessment. This Google Meet will run through how to measure growth for students related to the SLG, and then tips on how to present it. The link for the meet is here (click on the words Google Meet). There will be a meet/work time/wrap up.
  • K-12 Band and Orchestra- 12:15 to 2:25 in Music Office at Durfee to work together on planning for modifications to events for next year (Friday 12:15- 2:25 is the Save the Date Meeting)
  • Chorus- Chelsea Burnham will be digitizing music at Talbot.
  • 9-12 Durfee Fine/Perf Arts Team may choose either the Google Meet or to continue to complete the revised Syllabi for courses to be taught next year.
Friday will be building time.

SUMMER PLANS- I will be out of the office from June 23 to August 1. If you need me, text me or email. Hoping you have some really fun plans for the summer!
