The name March is ultimately derived from the Latin word Martius (named after Mars, the Roman god of war). Martius was the name of the first month in the original Roman calendar. It's gonna be an awesome month- make it count!
Here's what we have this week and in the next month across the ARTS:
- The last PD day of the year is upon us! Please remember to sign up for the PD you are interested in, and let me know if you have any questions. I will copy/paste the options here. Durfee will be doing NEASC work.
- Wear comfortable clothing if you are participating in the Capoeira or the Expo PD!
- LLA Visit- The Lynch Leadership Academy Fellows (BU Principal Interns) will be visiting our arts classes to see the growth and pursuit of excellence through high quality culturally relevant arts instruction- they will be observing at Durfee and Doran on March 19th. Excited to share our journey with these future principals so they can learn from the great work YOU do!
- PLC Work- Continuing on this week and next with Academic Conversations in 6-12 classrooms as well as LANGUAGE OBJECTIVES that pair with Content Objectives. As we plan for these two objectives, it's important to communicate these in kid friendly language to our kids, consistently! Thank you for learning and growing with me!
- Kuss has their musical happening soon! Chelsea and the Cougars are planning on an AMAZING performance of Little Mermaid- Come support your performers on 3/22 at 7PM, and 3/23 at 2PM.
- All City Band and Orchestra Concerts are on TAP! So excited to have our kids together to perform!
- And don't forget to sign up for the Durfee Hilltopper March 5k! www.trireg.com/durfee-hilltopper-march
Thank you!
