3rd Grade Students from HLCS, Spencer Borden, Doran and Silvia attended the annual New Bedford Symphony Orchestra's Adaptations in Motion Concert on Tuesday.  So amazing to see our kids engaged in actively listening to a symphony.  LOVE.

PD Day:

Thank you all for participating in the March PD day- great work happening across this department.  K-8 Art worked on prepping for the EXPO, K-8 Music and Dance learned Capoeira from Master Capoeira Instructor Polvo of AMP Gym right here in Fall River, Band and Orchestra worked on prepping for festivals and trips, and 9-12 Fine and Performing Arts worked on uploading evidence to the NEASC folders for our upcoming accreditation.  The last two days of school will also be release time days used for PD, and these will happen on Thursday June 13th and Friday June 14th.  More to come on those later in the spring.

Music in Our Schools Month:

We have a few things on tap for Music in Our Schools month- All City Band and Orchestra concerts will be happening here at Durfee on 3/20 and 3/21- these concerts are an extraordinary event, combining students from grades 5-12 into one performance.  Many of our students say that this is a great memory they carry with them throughout their time with us.  Thank you to all of the Band and Orchestra team who have led students to this point!  

Also, Gael Berberick is planning a grade 3 concert on Friday March 15th at 9:30!  Break a leg!

Durfee Theatre Co Competing at METG Semi Finals:

Our amazing Durfee Theatre Students will be competing at Sharon High School this weekend!  Wish them luck!

PreK-8 Art Teachers: If you need additional kraft paper for EXPO prep, please let me know.  Thank you all for helping out Monday to get this work started!
